This blog is for the Wieuca Road Baptist Church J.E.P.R. (Justice, Ethics and Public Responsibility) Council & friends. We are a group of laity and clergy who seek to enable the church to tackle tough issues of our society such as poverty, hunger, racism, environmental destruction, and war. We hope to encourage healing, unity, diversity, and peace-making for all God's creation.

Faith and the Environment at a sister church in town

Check out
www.peachtreebaptist.net

for a discussion on faith and the environment going on within their faith community. You'll notice a blog on their website within which folks are having discussion as well. They've been on a 2 or 3 month long exploration of these issues.

No matter what the origins of PBC initiative on creation care, kudos to them for moving forward with vigor and visibility.

"Brother in Christ," posting in the comment section of the PBC blog, really is not happy with PBC, and certainly would not be with WRBC either. But,Matt, I am not sure that he got your gentle (posted) humor.

While I wish that Wieuca could move forward with dynamism in this area, I guess that a church can focus only on a certain number of major efforts at a time. We have a number of those.

On the other hand, just look at how the issue of global warming and environmental protection has almost had a flip in the US consciousness in the last year (the period since IT was sponsored at Wieuca by JEPR). Even Gore and Bush talking about GW??!!

Scott and Matt, I am very pleased at the direction our "Green Team" at PBC has taken since we last talked about it. We look forward to partnering with you in the months to come.
